My Dream Lover

This book begins as a coming-of-age story about a young man named Robert Bryant and his younger sister Emily: strangers in a new town in 1953. Robert befriends football team member Roger LeBlanc. Roger has a younger sister named Coralie, who befriends Emily. Born a genius with exceptional coordination, Robert excels at sports in high school. However, due to his nature, Robert struggles with the concept of love and only maintains short, casual relationships. Years later, Robert finds the passion of love where he least expected. But things in his life change suddenly, which propel him into a world of betrayal, deceit, and treachery as Robert struggles to reunite with his one true love. Along the way, Robert discovers a dark past and things about himself, which accounts for how he became the way he is.

Robert Bryant is part of a wealthy family. He exhibited signs of being a genius since his early childhood. Most people born with extremely high IQs on the level of Robert’s become stereotyped in many ways. Most of them remain focused solely on the cerebral aspects of their development and not their bodies. Some are ostracized in school, leading to complexes and frustrations then and as adults. Therefore, they forfeit many priceless experiences in their youth and adulthood. Robert was also born with extreme physical coordination. His parents went to great lengths to develop his advanced physiological and mental capabilities, so he could enjoy a ‘normal’ life.

However, Robert finds the concept of true love easier to comprehend once he finds it with a woman he least expected. That’s when things take off. Then, he is undoubtedly cast into a world of betrayal, deceit, and treachery.
